Daniel, Lauren, Darlene, Eric, Allie and Jesse having a blast in San Diego! This past weekend we went down to San Diego for the 24th (ish) annual reunion for my dad's UC Davis friends. My sister and I have been going since we were born and look forward to enjoying the company, catching up and seeing how many inches/ feet the kids have grown. It is such a unique group of friends and always a fantastic time!
Every year, it has been a tradition that we dig a pit. It started out the perfect size for two little girls (my sister and me). It has now transitioned into something much bigger. The dads were willing to give it up, however, I anticipated having children within the next couple of years and thought it might be a good idea to keep the tradition alive!
Before the boys were told to play football on the other side of the flags!
The ladies and the ladies man! Chips???

The Hole
Still digging!
Me and my girls!
Part of the fun is, after digging all day, letting the tide come in. We (the boys) created hole where the water can enter the pit. After the bridge collapsed, everyone had so much fun standing around and watching the boys (and a few dads) participate in caving in the pit.
The mound in the middle became a landing pad. The boys had so much fun running around the circle. I am not sure whether it was more fun to watch or to participate... we were laughing so hard!
Especially when the dads joined in!
Both Steve and Bill were caught by the boys.
Christian and Luke
After many rounds of running, John got a bit tired and flopped onto the sand. My dad thought it would be funny to bury him. The good news is that we go back every year so we will probably find him next year!
